The U.S.S. Intrepid, NCC-1730 was a constitution refit class vessel launched in 2274 from the San Francisco Starfleet Yards under the command of Captain Sten Tarak, and later Captain T'Vel, who commanded her until she was decommissioned. The Intrepid served with distinction for over forty years, finally being retired from service in 2317, one of the last few such vessels to be decommissioned.
