_{The original pilot is notable for considerable differences from the series. Firstly, Nick is played by Rick Springfield, not Geraint Wyn Davies. Lacroix was played by Michael Nader (probably best known for his role in Dynasty). Nader's performance was good, but pales in comparison to Nigel Bennett's stunning portrayal. The only person to reprise their role in the series was the excellent John Kapelos as Schanke. Also, the pilot was set in Los Angeles rather than Toronto, and the character of Natalie was actually MALE. Finally, Nick's real name was Jean-Paul, not Nicholas. Personally I prefer Nicholas, but then I guess I'm biased.....}
